Hi,
Live in Los Angeles here, but can't help but notice that they are doing a Nightmare Before Christmas thing at the McKitrrick in early December.
Has anyone gone to one of the post "Sleep No More" movie themed parties? What kind of show is put on? The ticket price isn't really that big of an issue, however, throw in airfare, or miles and hotel costs, and this just became a really really expensive party. While all of the photos look great, they are lacking in what you actually get for your admission.
Thanks for any details you can share for someone on the left coast.

I was at the first- Romeo & Juliet. It was a lot of fun- about half of the Sleep No More space is themed to the party, with the large ballroom the most decorated. That's also the "dance floor" for the night. It did include a limited open-bar with several bars open throughout the space.
I would liken it to the after-hours parties Disney does at California Adventure (hope you get that as a LA resident). Totally fun, a chance to revel in costume outside of Halloween, but not worth a whole trip/airfare/hotel.

You should absolutely not fly across the country to go to this. You will be incredibly disappointed if you do. That's not to say it's a bad event but it's much less elaborate than you probably imagined in your mind. First, there is no "show" or performance at the event. They actually have a sleep no more show that night which ends at 10 PM (so already that should give you an idea over how elaborate this party could be). Then they take an hour to put up minor decorations on the walls of the main ballroom and that's pretty much it actually. The party itself is basically a night club with dance music and when i went it was open bar where they served bottom shelf mixed drinks. The best part is that everyone else is wearing absolutely amazing costumes which is why the pictures look so great but the party itself supplies only minimal decoration (they only have an hour and it all has to be thrown out the next day). My description of the event might make it sound bad, it's not, it's fine for what it is, just want to make sure you don't think the care that goes into sleep no more goes into these one-night costumed dance parties.

Thanks Hypno and Spidernight. You kind of confirmed what I was fearing. The fact they make it clear it's a SuperCinema event and not PunchDrunk should have been my first clue. Who knows, they pictures do like great. Maybe sometime a trip to NYC will happen to align with one of the parties. And if not, seeing SNM again would be fantastic on it's on. The party $$ would buy a few post show rounds up on the roof top bar. The other thing I didn't factor when I posted my original post about their Nightmare b4 xmas event.. Hotel pricing in Manhattan on pre-Christmas December weekends are insane. Probably not the best time to visit, even if the city is all decked out.
