We hope this message finds you well as we begin to embark the holiday season!
We have a compelling new play to be featured in The New York Theater Festival that explores pivotal social and political events from 1969 to 1970.
There are a myriad of challenges we all face, on the daily. And we all bear witness as they reverberate and permeate our individual experiences. From our local communities, to the greater global exchanges that shape our lives; the impacts of these events ripple through all of us. Many of the issues explored in the play, we very much still wrestle with, tirelessly, as a nation.
SIXTY NINE SEVENTY dives into the struggles of four college students navigating the tumultuous landscape of their time. As they are faced with witnessing the destructive actions of a corrupt administration, The fight for social rights, women’s rights, the defense of a deteriorating environment at the hands of corporate greed, all amidst the growing threat of violence against those whose speak out; they must each decide whether to simply bare witness or to stand up.
SIXTY NINE SEVENTY begs us to acknowledge that the solution to tyranny and corruption is to collectively and decisively stand together and say “No”. To recognize injustice, and unite to face it in its many forms, together. To decide that WE will protect the sanctity of humane treatment, even if our leaders and the people in positions of power will not.
So it is in this spirit that we invite you to contribute, and join us in proliferating this message as we cultivate a united approach in bringing awareness to the continued call for change, together. We are reaching out to gather and unite a larger coalition of support from various organizations to help bring light to each of the social aspects explored in the play. The more support we can generate collectively, the greater the impact we can have on the broader public. Your involvement would greatly enhance our efforts to reach a wider audience and foster meaningful discussions around these pressing topics.
Our intention is to invigorate the public conversation and bring the focus to this simple and essential message through the vein of live performance in New York City. There are many ways you can assist us in elevating this message as we develop this show. The New York Theater Festival is a vaulting board for us to broaden the exposure and develop our show to impact a larger audience, as well as bring organizations like yours to the public attention for ways to engage.
If anyone would you be open to discussing potential ways you could support our production, whether through financial contributions, promotional partnerships, or facilitating ticket sales, please reach out to us via email. Any assistance would be invaluable in making this performance a success.
Thank you for your time and attention. We have included a teaser from an earlier workshop to give you an understanding of the work. We would love the opportunity to discuss this further and explore how we can collaborate. Please let us know a convenient time for you to connect.
