Surprising good Community Theater??????- Page 2

my community theatre is put on by our local community college well they have two amazing performance spaces. we barely ever have any college students mostly high school/local theatre veterans. and then we also have another community theatre which it's a whole theatre community. there is a total of 12 productions performed yearly.
in my town.

This story is SLIGHTLY off topic but I figured you guys would find it interesting..

A couple of years back my HS was doing "Chicago". Now for those of you living in the New York area you might have heard about this cause it made some new york news papers (Daily news,Post,times). My school never asked for permission to do Chicago and they were in violation of something regarding a production cannot happen in a so and so radius of the actual show. So the Producers of Chicago sent a "Cease and Desist" letter informing them to stop the school production at once. This after the school spend "thousands" or dollars on costumes,sets,etc. I use quations because I was in the show and I never saw the result of thousands of dollars.. I saw sets painted by kids in art classes and we were told what kind of costumes to get ourselves...
So my school protested and went to the papers, and bloomberg and anyone who would listen basically, and finally (I guess after pressure) the producers sent out a letter giving my school permission to do the show because the kids worked so hard they didnt want to see us "dissapointed".

We did the show and it was BAD. During the show I was thinking, we did all that for THIS??.
The producers never should have changed there mind.

why does everybody complain about how many question marks you use when asking a question , its not that big of a deal !
