As you all know, Sutton will exit THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE this Sunday after two years with the production.
News ... Sutton's next big project will be performing the role of "Jo" in the new musical Little Women. She begins the rehearsal process for this new ensemble piece in September 2004. Little Women will premiere on Broadway in December 2004 after tryouts at Theatre Previews at Duke University in North Carolina October 7-31 and New Haven's Shubert Theatre November 11-21.
I know many of you have seen this info online, already ... just wanted to remind you that although she is leaving Broadway, she won't be long gone!
Thanks!

First of all, you have a great site, it's very well done and updated.
I really enjoy seeing her as Millie and will be going to see her last performance this Sunday. I can't believe it's been almost two years. Before the show opened I remember having lunch with a friend and her friend who happens to be one of the producers of the show. He kept going on and on about this new actress that was in his show and invited me to see the show during previews. Sutton just totally blew me away, and she continues to do so every time I see her perform. I have already gotten tickets to see her in Nothing Like a Dame in March, for her concert at Lincoln Center and plan on buying tickets to see the Snoopy benefit....so at least she won't be totally gone from Broadway. Anyone else going on Sunday?
No, I wish I was going to see it! But I did get the chance to see her in it (for the second time)last wed. before she. She is a very talentd young women, the show will never be the same without her. I am also looking ver foward to seeing the Snoopy benefit!! I can't wait.
who ever is going on sunday have fun at the show and report back!

I will also not be in attendance.
I've sent her my best wishes. I'm sure her last performance will be amazing. Those in NY should not miss this one.
I hope to see reports of a great show and a bittersweet last performance for Sutton.

After seeing Sutton in Millie almost ten times, I still never got tired of seeing her. She is my favorite actress, and I'll miss her in Millie. On the other hand, I can't wait to see what other roles she chooses to grace the stage with and what the future holds for her. Unfortunately, I will not be attending her last run in Millie, but I'll be thinking about her and wishing her the very best.

Wow ten times.
I saw the show five glorious times and I usually see shows once (with a few exceptions FB 13, Urinetown 3, Millie 5)
I will miss seeing Sutton in the role. She was perfect in the role and lit up the stage.
I wish her the best in all her future endeavors and look forward to seeing her in Little Women.
It is a sad day for Millie. She will be missed.
Words cannot describe how talented Sutton Foster is.
Yes i would have to agree.

Sutton is great and classy and so is her web site.
Great job on that ... it's simple and yet, Sutton.
I'll be there ... front and center, waiting for Gimme Gimme ... I'm sure it will be a hair-raiser! She's fab!

I love Gimme Gimme. I imagine it will be the best performance of it she has given.. perhaps the encore will be to perform it all over again..!
I guess Gimme Gimme will be her signature song now.
I can't wait to see her portrayal of Jo March and i wish her much luck in the future. She is soo talented and so down to earth. Its great she dint become a major broadway diva and returned a lot of fan mail (mines included).

Sutton Foster is the greatest performer I have ever seen on stage. I totally adore her. She's a real triple if ever there was one, as a singer, dancer, and comedic actress.
I'll be there Sunday for her finale (my 6th time), and I look forard to her future career.
Great site, Heath.
Happy Valentines Day, Everybody!

I have to say I was very impressed by the way she handled herself in dealing with those opening night reviews which were negative. Some seemed like personal attacks and not an analysis of a particular perfomance, but this young woman came off as mature and dedicated. Too bad the same couldn't be said for some of her critics, who are probably old enough to be her grandparent. Good luck to you, Ms Foster.
unfortunately I'm not going to get to see Sutton again in Millie, but I was down at the Marquis today and walked past the cast list, just to see her name up there one last time. It hadn't completely hit me yet, until I saw that, that she was leaving. I'm really sad, but on the other hand I absolutely *adore* Susan Egan and I know she'll be fantastic. I can't wait to see Sutton in Little Women. I wish her nothing but the best in everything she does.
heh heh, i just loooooove the title of this thread, heh heh.
if anyone who is going to see the show and feels like meeting up, pm me!
I will definitely be going to see Sutton in "Little Women". I only was able to see "TMM" once, and loved it! She's great!
I will thoroughly miss seeing Sutton as Millie. It was my first Broadway musical I ever saw and I instantly fell in love with Sutton when I saw Millie for the first time. What a talented woman! I wish her the best of luck tonight and I can't wait to see her in Little Women.
Goodbye good goody girl...I'll miss you and how...

I just got home and settled in after seeing Sutton's finale. I think it was a very nice send off for her, and for Delta Burke as well. They each received a bouquet of some kind of big white lilies at the final curtain. But the night belonged to Sutton! There was a little more smiling and stuff than usual, also she seemed to be looking around at the audience a bit, but she gave it her usual, thoroughly fenominal performance, especially on "Gimme Gimme".
It was great to meet some of the board members, and it seems there were mostly fans all around us in Row C.
Also, I found out what happened to the site of the Priscilla Hotel at 1501 Broadway. I guess it got torn down soon after the white slavery ring got broken up, and the Paramount Building was built on the site in 1926. I just had lunch there at Bubba Gumps.
i was in row C!! a HUGE THANKS to Mistress_Spouzic!!! I owe you!

Youre welcome! And I have to thank bronte for selling me mine! I had such an amazing time! The theatre was a little complicated for me, so they put me up in the box seat area. I had never seen a show from the perspective before but it was quite a view. The show was funny and lively. I wanna see it again!
yes thanks to Bronte too!
No prob, I just am glad you guys had a good time.
II had a great time, I took my best friend, who had seen it when it first opened, she loves the CD and totally adores Sutton's performance. IMO you could tell most of the crowd today knew it was Sutton's last day.....when the curtain rose and showed her in the first scene the audience went nuts, cheering and everything. For pretty much every song and dance number Sutton had, there were cheers.
Then there was Gimme Gimme....I thought she blew the roof off of the Marquis. A good number of people stood up (including me because I was floored by her performance) after the song. Then again when she came out at the curtain call. You could really tell she was having a good time performing. I was very happy to have been there. I'm gonna miss seeing her in Millie, but I can't wait for the other things she has coming up. I can only see her star getting brighter in the future.

I had a great time at the last Sutton performance, and thanks to Bronte604 for letting me buy the ticket! There was a huge line outside and anyone with an extra ticket could have made a huge profit -- instead she chose to sell to board members, for less than the value of the ticket -- that's a kind and generous person. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks Bronte604!!
I was delighted to see Sutton so close up. Hank's right: she was phenomenal. She was doing what I love actors to do most: living in the moment. After two years, for her to still be able to listen and play it live, rather than by rote, is amazing. She will have a great career, there's no doubt, because her talent comes from inside ... it's not just a facade of "performer" ...
I was amazed to hear that the guy playing Jimmy is Sutton's real life boyfriend. He has a great voice. Belatedly I connected him to that ebay commercial -- that is him, isn't it? The one where the woman is asking a sales clerk in a Sears-type store where she can find what she wants and he sings a parody to the tune of "That's Amore" about ebay? -- at one point he rips open his shirt to reveal a diamond encrusted "ebay" necklace .... I think that was him ... could anyone confirm??
