Sweeney and DRS Ticket/Show Questions

Hello,
I am attempting to possibly see Sweeney Todd and/or Dirty Rotten Scoundrels the week of August 28th. What is the cheapest place to get tickets ahead of time for Sweeney or DRS? Also, does anyone know which nights Patti LuPone & Michael Cerveris are NOT performing? (I'd like to try to see the real performers at least for Sweeney)

Just a thought....the understudies are real performers too. Not robots, I promise.

Im pretty sure Patti will be back in Sweeney on the 28th, so you should see her and Michael (I believe he hasnt missed a show). The whole cast has a great attendence record.

Since you're a student, you can do student rush for both.

The cheapest way to get tickets is at the TKTS booth the day of the performance. There's also a discount code for Sweeney Todd, but it's only though August 27 (visit Playbill.com, or the Sweeney Todd website for more info)

Other options:

Try the DRS lottery. It's fairly easy to win, and only $25.

Sweeney Todd has student rush. Best seats available for roughly $36. And they don't always ask for student id.

According to another thread, Michael did miss at least one performance. But it's extremely rare for him to be out. Patti Lupone will be back August 15, and I doubt she'll miss a performance for the rest of the run.

Yeah. Once Patti is back in the middle of August, she should not miss any performances becuase the show only lasts a few more weeks.
