Sweeney Revival, is it really happening?

Does anyone have the scoop on the Sweeney revival? Is it really going to happen? After Roundabout lost it (or dropped it???) and it went commercial, it was a little unstable sounding to me, and when it started announcing changes to the orchestra arrangements as they were to accomodate performers in some way or another, then it sounded even more like it was leading to go nowhere. Anyone know anything?

By all accounts, it's going forward.

BSM would be wonderful...too bad its this "strange concept look at me look at me" production. I dont want BSM or Bernadette anywhere near this mess.

yeah. so what's going on with the orchestra stuff now? are there still going to be only 9 performers and all 9 playing a different instrument?

That's what I've heard, though the instrument requirements have changed from the London production. Sweeney plays triangle or something now. And Lovett plays the maracas instead of trumpet. Well, not maracas, but something other than trumpet. You get my drift.

I'm glad it's getting a new approach. The original staging is available on DVD and the original orchestrations are available on 2 DVDs as well as 2 complete recordings. The Circle in the Square was a scaled-down version that more or less resembled what had already been seen. I was getting kind of tired of the same old Sweeney. This concept has renewed my interest.
