Saw Sweeney Todd last night again, I decided that I want to remember this piece of theater as long as I live. I will most likely go again to see it on Tuesday. The show was amazing as usual. But the person I really noticed today was Mark Jacoby as Judge Turpin, I mean although he does not have a huge part he plays gorgeous trumpet for the entire show. Also, I have said it before and I will say it again Lauren Molina is gorgeous (and it looks like she lost weight) but she is gorgeous and talented which is not fair, she has two and I have none of them. Everybody else was spot on. One of the many things I love about this production is the concentration you can see in actors eyes.
Stage door, I don’t remember the order, but everybody came out and signed they were all so nice but of coarse Usher was right across the street, and ever so often the stage door lady (so super nice, was talking and joking with us) and the rest of the crowd would break into "USHER I LOVE YOU, SHOW ME YOUR CHEST!!!!" and we just all had a great time. It took Michael a while to get out, but he was well worth the wait, He is just such a nice guy, and so relaxed. When he finally got out he gave the crowd waiting a look and said honestly "sorry 'bout the wait"; even Patti was super nice. But they blocked off the road for usher, and the really tasteless thing is that after Usher left some of the Chicago audience must have said "Omg lets stage door at Sweeney Todd" and they were so rude- if you are on this board flaming boy in the blue Polo and a light brown color pants with flip-flops on I am talking about you. And the Weisslers were at Sweeney tonight as well, and Fran left her Cell phone so they had to come back through the stage door. Barrie tried to tip the stage door woman and she turned it down. But it shows you, he wasn’t at Chicago last night (he was seeing a real show)
Walking home it started to rain, but the night was well worth it!
"if you are on this board flaming boy in the blue Polo and a light brown color pants with flip-flops on I am talking about you."
The way you phrased that sounds funny
What were they doing that was being rude?
"if you are on this board flaming boy in the blue Polo and a light brown color pants with flip-flops on I am talking about you."
That's funny, since a kid matching that description was at the matinee. It probably was him, since only some of the cast came out and we were told we could return at 10:30 if we wanted stuff signed by more cast members. I didn't since I had to drive back to Massachusetts, and I already had things signed (but stopped at the stagedoor because I was buying a shirt from Lauren Molina).
Was he talking about Rent or Wicked? I think he said that he has seen Wicked 20-something times.
Anyway, I'm glad you had a great time! It's such an awesome production.

Horton: Thanks for sharing your experience. It would be great to see Sweeny again before it closes.
Thanks again.
