They're beginning to talk more about Helena on that Depp site now. One of the quotes...
"- QUESTION - Mrs. Lovett. How detestable is she? In some productions, she's more of a villain than Sweeney, for obvious reasons. How is she here?
- ANSWER - I enjoyed her character. HBC was really good...better than I had expected. She has her sinister side but she's not on par with Sweeney's evilness. She does show a human side and she provides much of the comedy."
Another interesting post on the marketing aspect...
"I think it was pretty clear that the people marketing this film believe they have something good, with built-in appeal to certain segments of the audience. I suspect the real concern is crafting a promotional campaign that will appeal to each of these groups while not alienating the others. I also suspect this is the reason why “horror fans” are not listed among the groups being targeted: the marketers probably fear they have much to lose and little to gain, that selling to the horror crowd will alienate other viewers and still not bring in the gore-hounds. I am just interpreting based on the questions asked last night; I could be wrong, of course.
