I was wondering what the view is like from the partial view seats in the mezz for SWEENEY TODD off-Broadway.
Any help appreciated.

I sat in the second row, to the left next to the wall. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. I felt like I was watching the people downstairs having a lot of fun. Since no one was behind me, I stood up a few times to peek over the head of the person in front of me. And there's some stuff that you can't see at all. Nothing major, but still. Unless you really, really want to see the play and there are no other seats available, I wouldn't recommend it. If you want to pm me your email address, I'll send you a picture.

I've heard numerous reports that the view is horrendous and you miss a lot - unless possibly you are very tall I suppose? But after hearing all the reports, I wouldn't sit there

I would try to get floor seats for this. It's worth the money, IMHO. You really need to be in the middle of the action to get the full experience. I sat at one of the front tables and it was worth every penny. Though if this is all in your price range, I'd rather have partial view than not see it at all. Carolee's definitive Mrs. Lovett is not to be missed.

I sat in the back row, and it's fine (obviously not the full experience, but all i could afford) everyone was standing up (because for the second row at least, it was the people in the first row blocking the view). One important thing is that the cast members do occasionally come up into the balcony during the show, so you're not COMPLETELY missing out on the interaction. The actors don't use mics, but the room is so tiny, that the sound is not at all obscured (it might be better than sitting behind the pit). In addition, my sister preferred the seats because she gets overwhelmed by people getting in her space, and was able to enjoy the show from the "safety" of the balcony. She also pointed out that in most of the seats on the floor there was generally action missed behind your back, while we got to oversee everything. I do regret missing the pie, though, especially since I heard they always have leftovers.
