Does anyone know if the script to the new version of Sweeney is available anywhere, or, when it will be? Or, when the cast recording will be out? (I just saw it 2 nights ago. It was possibly the best show I have ever seen!)

They probably won't make one since the original is out and there pretty much the same, but if they do it won't be for years.

Do you mean a script or a CD? I would be shocked if they don't do a Cast recording of this one.

According to Amazon.com, the cast recording is due out on January 24, 2006.

Sticking to the title but not the discussion subject:

Is there an "official" ending of the show?
I've seen/heard 3 separate endings...

The OBC Album has Ms.Lovitt saying "Poke 'im, and prick'im and mark 'im with a B... and put 'im in the oven, the baker and me" with no recorded Finale reprise.

The Patti LuPone and George Hearn concert ends with Neil Patrick Harris (Toby) insanely grinding imaginary beef through the grinder: "Oh nonono you mustn't come in here, sirs! Smoothly... Smoothly" followed by the Finale reprise: "Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd...etc"

And the current revival has Toby reciting the "Poke 'im and prick'im" lines before cutting Michael's throat, then bound and untied from a straight jack, and leading the Finale reprise.

Which is the right way or all productions essentially doing it "right"?

Actually - Toby is the one reciting the "Poke 'em and ****'em" bit in the OBC recording. What is not on that recording is the dialouge that follows - "Oh no you musn't come in here". That dialogue is preserved in the taping of the original production with Angela Lansbury and George Hearn. The concert version is exactly the same. Also - the "Finale reprise" is on the OBC recording. Do you have the complete version or just the highlights?

Oh wow. I totally stand corrected! I just listened to my OBC Recording and laughed outloud. That IS Toby speaking "Pat 'im and Prick'im!" All this time I've been listening incorrectly and assuming it was Angela Lansbury with some messed up voice (coming back to life from the oven) Hahahaha I don't know WHAT I was thinking...

And on top of that, my LAST TWO TRACKS were mislabeled (28+27 instead of 27+28 on my OBCR, hence the mistake of thinking the Finale Reprise wasn't at the end.

Wow... wow I feel sooooooo completely foolish now! Haha Thanks for the assistance and CLARITY!
