Are Sweeney Todd tickets pretty well sold out for the dates they're available, except for the premium seats? I looked on their site, and it looks like they've only got a few dates listed, and everything is $200 and up. Ticketmaster doesn't seem to list them, and there's no phone number for the theater.
Or am I just looking in the wrong place?
Thanks,

Telecharge is handling the show, not Ticketmaster and there are tons of orchestra seats left at regular, non-premium prices.
In fact, tons of dates for the show are available on TDF, which probably means discount codes will be made available for it soon.

Posted: 9/16/05 at 3:13pmI would imagine they will, but I'm not seeing any info about that online yet. Since previews begin in two weeks, I'm sure the policy will be out fairly soon.

I just bought tickets today on BroadwayOffers.com this morning for October 7th (a Friday) in Orchestra Row H, 5th and 6th seats from the center aisle. If you go to Broadwayoffers.com and the code is STTCE46.
Good luck.
(Tickets were $70 each)

Is the opening night sold out, or is it still just for Amex Gold card holders?
All the Tdf tickets disappeared so fast, I had no shot at them. This discount is a great start though.

I didn't know previews started so soon!
...but it starts 2 days too late. Gah. (I'm going to the city on 10/1, and haven't picked a show yet!)

Sorry, excuse my ignorance but what is TDF?
I could have done with a discount, seeing Sweeny is going to prove pretty expensive once I factor in the airfare and accomadation costs, though having see the production here in London I'm sure it will be superb on Broadway. Very excited, can't wait. Oh and I'll finally get to see Light in the Piazza after listening to it for months on end!!

How are the back of the house $36 tickets, do you think? Are they extremely distant? I know this is a show I should be in the front for, but I'm going to the Met Opera in a few weeks and can't spring for $70 right now. It's not a huge theater...

Is the opening night sold out, or is it still just for Amex Gold card holders?
When I ordered my tickets, they said that Opening Night tickets were not going to be sold to the public. Stephen Sondheim has requested that it be an invitation only affair and that you could only purchase tickets for that date if you had an invitation from Sondheim himself.

I went with SRO tickets several times at the Eugene O'Neil and had saw everything just fine.
I've never set in the rear mezz though, so I'm not sure how those seats are. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
