Sorry about another Taboo question, but anyone know where to find a synopsis of Taboo where it explains what's happening w/ each of the songs? Like I know the basic synopsis, but like why is "Il Adore" sang? Anyone have a summary page would be greatly appreciated! :)

And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

Il Adore is being sung by Big Sue in both versions and it is because Leigh Bowery is dying(dead) of Aids. its a complicated shows with lots of intertwining plots... it needed major Book help though

Actually, Big Sue sang it in London. Nicola, Leigh's wife sang it on Broadway. And no, it's not a complicated plot at all...

Ah, thanks both. What I didn't realize until a few minutes ago when I looked it up was that there were 2 story lines going on..with Leigh and George..

What happens w/ Marcus and Boy George/how do they meet?

George is working in the coat check of a club called Planets, and Marcus (Gary) comes to the club with his girlfriend, and they check their coats. They start talking about photography, and Marcus starts taking George's picture. Then after the club closes, George starts talking to Marcus, Marcus needs someplace to sleep, Marcus ends up sleeping at George's...etc...

He doesn't want to have anythign to do with George anymore once George becomes out of control with heroin, so he leaves him.

Then he gives pictures he took of George doing drugs to a newspaper, which ultimately led to George's arrest.

The relationship between B George and Marcus isn't factual. The character Marcus is a "composite" of some of George's past boyfriends - not one person.
I hope I helped you with my answer.

I'm so sad that Taboo isn't playing any longer - I truly miss it! I want both surprised and happy to see that someone posted a thread about it! Thanks Updated On: 4/2/05 at 09:45 PM

I liked a lot of the music, but the show was severely flawed.

Yes, it was a big mess, but it had definite potential.

With a new book and a better producer, it could be a major hit.

A new book and director.

Rosie had nothing to do with the show's failure, please.

Guttersnipes was actually not one of my favorites...

I loved Fame Game though... great addition! i also think that Esparza was way better than Cerveris and deserved the Tony. and George's score was also the best, followed closely by Tesori...

Yeah, Renshaw is a crappy director. He ruined High Society. I don't know why anybody would hire him.

While Raul made something great out of a terrible part, nothing beat Cerveris' performance in ASSASSINS, it was brilliant.

Thenadier (BSO): I don't think TABOO could ever be a big hit, simply because of subject matter. It just wouldn't happen. And it's different than DRACULA, DRACULA would need a good score. It doesn't even have that.

well, just my humble opinion but i think that Assassins is a piece that really has no stand out parts. its mainly a group piece, maybe the ballader stands out... but anywho- maybe i saw him on an off day but Cerveris just wasnt as great as everyone made him out as. i much prefered O'Hare if Assassins was to win. ESparaza's Pertrified was brilliant. almost as great as Paul Baker.
