When is Szot's last day?

And it's a pipe dream, but Nathan Gunn can pull DeBecque off, in my view. I think he and Szot are around the same age...

Szot was supposed to perform as Escamillo in the Michigan Opera Theatre's production of Carmen from May 9-17 but he pulled out. I don't know why. But he is performing Carmen somewhere else, I would have really liked to see him this past weekend. Oh well, he is signed on to do Don Giovanni here next year so I will just have to wait.

Szot is also singing the title role in the Met's production of Shostakovich's The Nose in 2010, which I'm getting rather excited about.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad
