Actually the reviews (from the major papers) were mixed-to-negative mostly:

Posted: 7/31/06 at 7:36pmI liked the show. It's not Shakespeare, but it makes for a nice time.

I was mostly teasing you, because of that underline of yours. I have never seen Sweeney Todd but it seems to be held very high by the real musical enthusiasts, which is probably warranted. However as far as i know it doesn't contain a hit song like tarzan's You'll be in my heart. Not that musicals is all about hit songs, but i guess that Sweeneys strength is the story, the lyrics and the complexity of the music and not that it contains a lot of hit songs.

Posted: 7/31/06 at 7:56pmHalf of the show’s dialogue consists of ape calls and you're comparing it to Shakespeare!? A 2-year-olds speech would be a more realistic comparison…

Was that for me, because I said I liked the show?

Did we see the same show?

Posted: 7/31/06 at 9:51pmIts a fun family show.. the book, is a little lacking (not cuz of monkey calls) but its a good time.. if you wnat to have a good time you will.. If your a credic.. you'll be one no matter what you see.. but just make your own choices about shows or anything in life don't listen to everyone elses. I enjoy it, I've seen it 2 times once in previews and once after opening.
So what...I sing

"Dude- He's Sweedish. Give him a break."
Haha, aw!
I have no interest in seeing Tarzan. Strickland looks more like the Queen of the jungle, and I'm not too fond of the cast recording.
I however do love Sweeney Todd. I've seen it twice, and I think it's brilliant.

Tarzan isn't the best show out there, but it is enjoyable and the technical aspects are really impressive. I wouldn't pay over $45 for it, but if you get rush or something cheap it would probably give you that much enjoyment.

Is a show all about creating hit songs, or making people think?
Because, I have to say, the ape calls of Tarzan really made me think.
