The HD movies are becoming more prevalent, and I'm loving it. The titles are kind of random now, but they are showing more eye-popping vintage movies in high-definition, and they look incredible.
Just finished watching MGM's "A Date With Judy" with Jane Powell, Elizabeth Taylor, Wallace Beery, Carmen Miranda, Robert Stack, Scotty Beckett, and Xavier Cougat. This movie is not out on Blu-ray, but it looks ready to go. I could count the sequins in Carmen Miranda's dresses, but (thankfully) refrained from doing so.
Now, it's the quirky "Kind Hearts and Coronets" with the brilliant Alec Guinness playing seven different family members who are victims of murder. Very funny, and the image is so crisp and astounding in B&W. Wow.
I'm so glad they keep improving what they have and making these older films look even better than movies that are made today.
Summer Under the Stars
Looking forward to the showing of the underrated thriller “Night Watch” with Elizabeth Taylor on the 14th.
