Has anyone seen or heard anything on it yet? I really enjoyed it...

I had a very mixed reaction to the show. Ellen Burstyn was incredibly moving, and her relationship with Michael Shannon was beautifully portrayed. That said, the writing felt extremely uneven--the highs were high, but there were some tedious points that felt overtly familiar. I couldn't help but think that I had seen most of this before. Long story short: I cried at the end, but I still left feeling unfulfilled.

I had tickets to the first preview. I was SO EXCITED. Guirgis is one of my absolute favorites.

...I got the time mixed up so i showed up an hour late. Saw "Conversations in Tusculum" instead, which was a total snooze fest.

Now i'm back in Texas totally hating myself for getting the wrong time and missing a) Ellen Burstyn on stage b ) a new Guirgis play directed by Phillip Seymour Hoffman c) the FIRST PREVIEW of it.

I did, however, see Gideon Glick at the Public.

this post has nothing to do with the play, sorry. re: THE LITTLE FLOWER OF EAST ORANGE
