The next time when THE PRODUCERS is on Broadway, what will happen to the show during the Tony season? Is the committee going to limit its nominations since it literally won everything when it came out or are they going to give the show a equal chance as everybody else?
the only awards it would theoretically be ineligible for would be those pertaining to new work, although based off the licensing I'd imagine it would also have the original staging, making it ineligible for several other categories as well.
Won't it probably be decades before this show is revived? I mean, it's such a paradigm, right? And Lane and Broderick are plastered in our minds. However, having said that, I think Norbert Leo Butz and Aaron Tveit would be great in a revival (but would the age difference be too significant?).
I don't think age would be a problem. In the show Leo talks about seeing one of Max's shows when he was a kid. With that being said there could easily be a 15 - - 20 year (or more) age difference.
Oh good point! I imagine we could all fill up a thread with our dream casting for this show.
Sutton as Ula? Or maybe Jessie Muller?
This will not be redone on Broadway for a good long time.
This thread is all kinds of crazy.
