THE SEAGULL -great evening in the theater. wonderful translation. great ensemble cast led by an amazing Kristin Scott Thomas .
13 - It was fun. Not great and certainly not the horror some people have described. Not bothered by the gay , Jewish or handicapped jokes at all . In fact , they'd be pretty mild compared to what real 13 yr olds say.Score was pretty good.
BILLY ELLIOT - also fun but not as wonderful as some people say. Maybe it was just seeing TALE OF 2 CITIES but the opening number had me thinking ...damn the peasants are revolting again. The Billy I saw , whose first name was Kiril was a good singer but a wonderful dancer and actor.Score was pretty good much better than AIDA.
ROMANTIC POETRY - What a mess! I can only speak for the first act ( the 2 ladies sitting next to me also left )but this was one of those shows where you wonder how anyone read the book or listened to the score a 2nd time much less put it on stage. And no , this isn't good , fun flop. It's a look at your watch and try to stay awake flop.
