i saw it in august in minneapolis. darcie roberts is quite cute and charming as "millie", but she doesn't have the 'belt' that sutton has on the OBC. i don't know if the mics and mix were right, cuz the orchestra drowned her out a lot.
pamela hamill as mrs. meers was funny.
richard roland as jimmy was good, and i can't remember the name of the guy who played graydon, but he was excellent, with a booming baritone.
you'll have a good time. it was a fun show!!

I noticed that too. I know she's out of the tour, but has anyone seen Juliana Ashley Hanson as Millie and how was she...did she have that belt like Sutton or more like Darcie (even though I know each actress brings something different to the role)?

i didn't get the chance to see this tour. i only saw the video clip on http://www.broadwayacrossamerica.com. Is Diana Kaarina still Miss Dorothy?

I saw the tour in Atlanta last .... August i think. Wow, that was over year ago! Anyway, i LOVED it. I think some things were toned down for the tour though. I may just not be remembering correctly, but i don't remember a revolving staircase like in the Broadway show. (not that it affected the show though.) I loved it though. I believe that Matt Cavenaugh was Jimmy when I saw it, and he was AWESOME. I was also impressed with Darcie Roberts, i thought she had a really impressible belt, maybe i'm just crazy. Is it just me, or did she use a bit of a character voice as Millie? Diana Kaarina was also great as Ms. Dorothy, she's also REALLY nice!

i'm seeing this tour in february in philly- it sounds like i'll enjoy this as much as i did the b'way version

I thought the tour was really good. Of course Darcie Roberts was not as great as Sutton Foster, but who is? I thought she was VERY good though. She did a great job. She was better than Susan Egan, in my opinion.

Just caught the tour on Sunday. Really enjoyed the show and the cast. The role of Miss Dorothy is now being played by Anne Warren who did a fantastic job, I thought.

I will be seeing this tour in February (hopefully a birthday present!). I already saw it in Cleveland last November and loved it.

i saw megan campbell on broadway, and don't stab me, but she was JUST as good if not BETTER than sutton. we actually thought she was lip syncing!

After seeing Millie 6 times with Sutton, and the finale with Susan Egan, I still need to see it again, so next month I'll be road triping to Baltimore. I have never seen a touring show, and I just wanted to see for myself how it is.
Millie is my all time favorite show, and I just can't wait for community theatre or the eventual Paper Mill production.

I believe the tour is coming to DC either in November or December, so I'll see it then. When I saw it on Broadway there were a lot of understudies on that night, and I thought the show was a little off. Sutton was there, but Anne Nathan as Mrs. Meers was just not funny.
My sister saw the tour early on in Tennessee and she really liked it a lot.

I saw the tour last year also in Nashville. I agree with you Actinggbugg474. Darcie Roberts had an absolutely wonderful belting voice. She filled the cavernous house with her beautiful singing. Maybe since she has been doing the tour a while, she's lost some of that. I don't know, lets just blame it on the sound system, hehe. Sorry techies.

Perhaps a little off-topic, but I saw Darcie Roberts play Fannie Brice in Funny Girl at the Theatre Under the Stars in Houston a few years ago, and she was amazing. I haven't seen her as Millie, though, but I've heard wonderful things.

wickedphantom- dont feel alone! I saw Megan Campbell as "Millie" and LOVED her. I actually got to see her very first performance as "Millie" back in June 03 (just TWO weeks after she joined the company!!!). She was only 18 years old, and blew EVERYONE away in the audience! When people heard she was the u/s, they were blown away, then when people heard she was only 18, this was her first time on in the part, and she had just joined the co, they were MORE blown away!!! She was great, and I did enjoy her as much as Sutton (but I have a special place in my heart for Sutton, so Megan didnt QUITE surpass her for me!). At curtain call, it was so cute- everyone in the co. was clapping for her and she started crying. Michael Mayer was in the audience and stood for her...so cute :) She was a DOLL at the stage door, also. She was so shocked people wanted her autograph and said the whole 2 1/2 hours on stage was a blur to her. I hope to see her in another show soon- she sure showed she has the chops!!!

i'm guessing i saw her second show then! augst 7th 2003! god she was just...amazing. WHY ISN'T SHE IN ANYTHING!!! but you could tell she had a wig..it was practically falling off at curtain call!! lol

I'm seeing the tour this Sunday in Dallas, and I'm really excited. I heard at one point that the tour does not include the elevator that they tap on, or that it doesn't move or something. Is that true?

Are there any major changes between the Bdwy production and the tour? I.e. scenes cut, smaller cast, smaller set?
I loved it in NY and a friend is seeing the tour next month. I LOVE Darcie and hope to see her if the tour heads out west.

I don't think Miss Dorothy's room is present during "Muquin."
I saw the show on Broadway with Sutton, and the show was mucho fun! The talent was great. It's a good, fun, feel-good family musical. Now I'm a big fan of Sutton.
