Seriously? Because here it causes all sorts of problems. Not to mention most kids are misdiagnosed and do not need to be on medication in the first place. Kids are WAY over medicated. And you shouldn't get kids on meds just to save school administrators from pulling their hair out.
ADHD is considered a pediatric health disorder. As a special ed professional I would think that you would know that.

BTW: Did they even medicate kids back in the '70s? So it's not like Audra's situation was unique. She was attributing modern standards to a situation that didn't exist then. Yes, you weren't medicated way back when, Audra, but so weren't the majority of kids. I think she was making a statement about not medicating your kids and trying to use her childhood as an example, but it doesn't work when overmedicated kids was not an issue then.

The "gold standard" for ADHD treatment is medication and behavioral therapy. I personally think that ADHD is flawed as a construct and over-diagnosed.

That blogger is a disgusting, miserable pig. Who the hell does she think she is, dictating what should and should not be said in a very special moment in someone else's life?

Audra is the epitome of class and elegance. That blogger is a very sick woman and child protective services should go have a look see in her home.
