Posted: 7/24/06 at 12:14amHey guys, I'm planning to be in New York in late August. I really want to see The Drowsy Chaperone and im planning to buy a ticket from the box office. I also want to see Avenue Q but don't want to pay full price for a ticket since I'm on a tight budget. At the TKTS booth, how much should I expect to pay if I bought a ticket from there? Also, what time should I get there? If you guys have any alternate tickets buying strategies I would be very gracious! Thanks in advance.

TKTS sells evening shows at 3:00 pm. For matinees, it's said to open at 10:00 am, but this week, it opened at 9:00 am on both Wednesday and Saturday. Get there anytime, I say -- there are always great tickets. There were a whole bunch for Avenue Q on Saturday, even at around 1:30 pm.
Generally, though, Q and Drowsy aren't available on TKTS. Don't expect those, or Tarzan, Color Purple, Wicked, Spamalot, and Jersey Boys.
