Posted: 6/12/06 at 5:00pmSeriously, could the memoriam have gone any faster? If you looked at the picture you missed the name, and if you stopped to read the name, you didn't get to see the picture. It felt like it was done out of obligation and NOT out of respect.

Posted: 6/12/06 at 6:12pmMy point was that it was poorly done. I'd expect a professional awards ceremony - even one done out of obligation and not respect - would have the decency to not skim over a memorial.

it didn't need to be longer ... it just needed to be shown full screen on TV ... instead we saw it as a camera shot of the monitor in the theatre ... and it lost its impact.
and i thought this thread was going to be about the nite the tonys died.

I agree that it should have been full screen.
I also agree about cutting the Spamalot bit. It was longer than it needed to be (if it needed to be there at all...)
I'm not saying it should have been a big drawn-out ordeal, I'm just saying more than 3 seconds should have been allotted (damn my spelling) for each person.
