She will be an ensemble member for the 2 PM matinee. Reminds me of Katie Couric's time as Glinda.

Katie Couric wasn't Glinda, was she? I was under the impression that she was just in the ensemble for the performance.

I don't know why it didn't work. I remember, in December 2004, Al and Matt arranged for her to be Glinda for one show. They even showed the program for that day with Idina Menzel and Katie Couric headlining.

Weird, I don't remember Katie doing the whole show?
But then again, I don't keep up with the guys on the Today show too much, probably because I never really cared for Katie to begin with.

Maybe it is something like Vanna White when she did a guest "cameo" as Sally Bowles in Cabaret, where she popped in for the "hello" in "Wilkommen", and (I think) the "Don't Tell Mama" number, and then the regular Sally at the time took over. At least, that's what the Wheel of Fortune video made it look like.
