Taboo: London vs Broadway Cast Recordings

It feels less like a cast recording, but there are some great songs missing from Broadway. Mainly Pie in the Sky and the entire Pretty Lies (which sounds better on a female voice). Any thoughts on which you think is better?

Like you though, I do miss several of the London songs when I listen to the Broadway version, though -- mainly Pie in the Sky (of which there is also a great version on Euan's solo album).

I think that I prefer the OBC to the OLC, but there is some great stuff on the OLC. "Safe in the City" is a million times better when sung by a guy. "Pie in the Sky" is really good, and some of the different arrangements of the songs are fun.

I know this is an old thread but I'm bumping it because I just got into this show over the weekend (might even start one of my "What went wrong" threads like I did with Jane Eyre and Steel Pier) but I gotta say it's Broadway for me.
The London cast recording just doesn't sound like a cast recording to me.

Posted: 1/13/09 at 1:20pmI'm still annoyed that the OLCR was over-produced to hell as I prefer the grittier more eccentric London version of the show with the four-piece band. The sound quality on the London DVD is also distinctly lacking which is twice as frustrating!
