I'm pretty sure the DVD won't be made available for wide release, similar to the Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert.
Nothing has been said of the CD, but it doesn't look to me like a major record label has stepped forward, so as of now, it looks like no wide release is planned for that either, but I don't have any official news. So as of now, it's $60!
I doubt that the DVD will be anything like the Les Miserables concert one. The Les Miserables one is very easy to find.
Taz, you ordered the wrong one. That is the original concept album. There is a CD out that has a majority of the Broadway cast that was recorded when they went over to do the concert in England.

The Les Miserables DVD got it's wide release a few years ago, I think with the 20th Anniversary or somethign with the new Broadway logo cover and included the documentary from 1988 on it!
You can only order the Tale DVD through PBS!
Can someone please be kind and throw me a bone and give me the link for the Tale of Two Cities DVD on the PBS website. All I can find when I search is a dramatized version of the novel in typical classic literature turned TV movie PBS style.
I know the CD is on here, but you can try to search around for the DVD.

Les Miserables in Concert had a wide release in 98 or 99 on VHS with a DVD shortly after, then that DVD was discontinued and rereleased not too long ago with the new(ish) revival logo.
When Les Miz aired on PBS it was a huge hit, and brought in a ton of money through the pledge drives, and there was a huge demand for a wide release on home video, and of course it was already a huge hit on stage. This really isn't the case with Tale of Two Cities, so it may not get the wide release.

Did the rereleased version of the Les Mis concert feature the speeches from Cameron Mackintosh, Boublil & Schonberg, etc.?
Incidentally, I'm listening to the concept album right now.
