Yup, it's like Mythus said. There are always discrepancies about whether or not you pronounce the "g." I think technically, since it's an Italian name, you wouldn't pronounce it as a hard "g" sound, but it's been anglicized, and I've definitely heard John pronounce the "g". So yeah... Tar-tag-lee-uh.

in italian you kinda pronounce a g more like a y. think like lasagna. of course if he says his own name incorrectly then well ... :)

John (with Princeton & Rod) read a clue on Jeopardy! a couple of weeks ago, and he introduced himself as John tar-TAG-lee-ah (with a short a and hard g). When I first discovered Q, I wanted to pronounce it the "Italian" way, until I started hearing otherwise.

Along with John "tar-TAG-lee-ah" you have Stephanie D'Abruzzo which is pronounced "Duh-bruise-o"
i like that pic of john broadway star
so, the "tag" section of his name is just pronounced like the word "tag" (rhyming with "rag") ? just making sure.
thanks all for the info too!
Yes, his name is absolutely said Tar-TAG-Lee-Uh. My last name is the same sort of style so I understand it. It's basically an Americanized Italian pronunciation.
