Tarzan- Is It appropriate for a Five Year old?

I want to take my Five year old nephew to see Tarzan. He sat through Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and was not even scared by the child catcher.
Is there anything scary that will not be suitable?
Thanks.
He turned to my Sister a few weeks ago and said Mommy, call Aunt Corine I miss her and I want to see a show.
SO CUTE!

Now, I haven't seen the show. But based on the reviews I've read here, it should be very suitable for a 5-year old. I mean, it IS Disney re: Tarzan- Is It appropriate for a Five Year old?

Hope this helps!

It has very scary moments, including a cougar biting the head off a monkey, and numerous guns hots. Plus, it's really BORING.

Jackson loved Chitty. I was almost bankrupt by the time we left the theater. He had to have the flying car, candy, water etc.
Boring? Andy Pellick flying from vines is boring?
Is it as enjoyable as Chitty? Jackson still talks about Chitty.
And he sleeps with his Chitty car.

Wow. If he can sit through Chitty, he can sit through anything. re: Tarzan- Is It appropriate for a Five Year old?

Just kidding. I don't mean to be hating on Chitty, I thought it was a fine production. I just can't imagine a 5-year old sitting through it.

How have you been Corine? You've been kind of quiet around the boards lately. And I haven't really had the time to do Henry's radio show. Let me know what's going on with you!

Chitty was his first Broadway show.
I hope Tarzan is his second. (He also saw Peter Pan and loved it)
But for some reason he still talks about Chitty.

My advice: see Drowsy Chaperone, or something lively. Tarzan was one of the worst things I've seen it a long time. There was nothing upbeat about it. Chitty was much better.

It will be appropraite, as long as a child can sit and behave for the duration of the show, it will be a great night for him.

Trust me, I had problems sitting through Chitty, so this kid must be an angel!

He is adorable, not an angel. But he was really into it.
I got such a kick out of watching him watch the show.
The best part was when one of the evil sidekicks came into the audience and sort of talked directly to Jackson.
Jackson's eyes got sooooooo big. I cried.
My nephew loves theater.

Thanks. At the time he was four and the youngest man in the theater. He got all kinds of attention. He really is gorgeous.
People fuss over him. re: Tarzan- Is It appropriate for a Five Year old?

Oh my god, enough already!

I saw the show last night and there were many kids around me, all of whom loved it. I saw a kid about 5 or 6 as we were all leaving and his father asked him what he thought and he responded with "It was awesome!" while practically jumping up and down. It seemed like all the kids around me were really into it so I'd say go.

There are times when he might be scared, but it's not as bad as YankeeFan is making it out to be. I think he would like Tarzan.
Do not take his advice to take him to Drowsy Chaperone, that is a ridiculous idea.

edit: fixed, sorry.

Yeah there are also monstors that go in the audience. And at the beginning the gorillaz have a war against the humans.

Rent for a five year old. Nope.
I'm surprised you did not recommend "TP Opera"
Hah. Hah. About as appropriate for a five year old as Rent.
LOL!

He can see Rent when he is a teenager.
I love Rent, but not for a child.
Neither is TP Opera. Especially the sexy version on Broadway.
LOL! re: Tarzan- Is It appropriate for a Five Year old? OMG.

re: Tarzan- Is It appropriate for a Five Year old?

Tarzan should be fine for a five year old. There were a whole bunch of kids there when I went and they seemed to love it. There are a few surpsising little "jump" moments, but certainly nothing scarier than the Childcatcher.

It's a cute show, I think he'll love it!

What a great idea! Take him to see ThreePenny. He will love the simulated sex so much! Plus you can give him sugar packets and he can pretend to snort cocaine like the actors on stage!
