What a tremendously moving afternoon yesterday as the Broadway community remembered Terrence. There were readings from some of his most memorable plays delivered by original cast members Nathan Lane, John Glover, F Murray Abraham. Tyne Daly did Maria Callas's final monologue.
Michael Urie set up Chita's entrance "She's real the Spiderwoman is. I know it. I've seen her." Then Chita slowly walked onstage dressed in white.
There were also heartfelt speeches from Audra McDonald, Joe Mantello, and Matthew Lopez.
Brian Stokes Mitchell sang "Make Them Hear You" from Ragtime. The song introduced by Lynn Ahrens.
Lin Manuel, John Kander, and Christine Baranski also read various speeches that Terrence gave over the years.
