The 10 Commandments on DVD#1

Wow! I heard this was bad, but I am now sitting through the DVD and this is the worst pile of crap I've ever seen.
Didn't anyone tell them to stop?
Has anyone else seen this?
What are your thoughts?

Posted: 11/23/06 at 9:34pmI wasn't going to buy it, but wanted to get it on Netflix - which doesn't have it available. Glad you put the final nail in the coffin of the "oh, I'll just buy it already" thoughts.

I love me some 'Nita (Anyone else care for her doing Whitney in 'The Bodyguard'?) but dang...
That show is some nasty $hit.
Although, all of the half naked men were fine.
If you are wanting to but it, I say go for it. It's gonna be another "Carrie" and at least you can say, "I have it on DVD, wanna watch?"

are you talking about the Val Kilmer musical?
I was at the theater. It was soooo sooo soo very bad. the burning bush made me laugh out loud. Iliterally snorted and I kid you not it echoed in the theater.
The bush came out and it was this little rinky dink PLASTIC bush with lights on it, not even real fire. Dear god, I'm lucky I didn't wet my pants
The only highlight of this show was the woman who played Moses' gypsy wife and the man who played Ramses. They both gave spectacular performances.

One of the most startling things about seeing this in L.A. was that Val Kilmer was in such poor physical shape. I kept thinking, "Wow, Moses really needs a personal trainer".
Also, I was sitting off to the side, and I could see the screen where Val's lyrics were being projected. The screen went blank whenever Val wasn't singing, so I guess he was the only one who needed help.
A must buy on DVD, I think!

Posted: 11/24/06 at 11:50amI ordered it for $9.67 from Deep Discount DVD with free shipping(they had a 20% off sale that ended yesterday). I couldn't pass it up for that price. Now I will have to wait for it to arrive.

The bush in the DVD has fire coming off of it, but they also have added silly digital sparkles to it.
Bad bad BAD!

This may be the Plan 9 From Outer Space of live shows
I cannot wait to get mine & revel in its utter awfulness. This sounds like a memorable train wreck

Posted: 11/24/06 at 8:25pmThey have the most obvious cheek mics I've seen since Smokey Joe's Cafe (and that was a GOOD show.)

Yes, the mics are obvious On the DVD, but you also need to remember that the Kodak Theatre is HUGE, and they would never be seen from the audience.
Cripes?! Am I sticking up for this?

JSYK, the girl who played Miriam was Alisan Porter, now Bebe in ACL.

Yes, this show was a waste of many talented people.
While they were singing their guts out, Val Kilmer plodded around the stage and could barely hold a tune.

Posted: 11/25/06 at 12:39pmMaybe they can bring it to Broadway with Hasselhoff as Moses or the Burning Bush

There's a good chance the DVD release was a last-gasp attempt to squeeze at lease some income out of this.
But it is indeed so wonderfully, terribly awful.
