Okay! So last year around this time, they announced Neil Patrick Harris would be the 2009 host. Any final thoughts before the 2010 host is announced?

Rosie or Whoopi.

I hope and do think it will be Neil Patrick Harris again! Before the Tonys I knew of him only through his appearances on Ellen, so I didn't know him all too well. I thought he did an excellent job!
If it isn't Neil I would love Rosie, but I don't feel that would help ratings or break the stereotype of the outside media of the Tonys being a joke. I could only imagine what "The Soup" would do with a Rosie hosted Tonys.

Neil can't host the show this year because of his commitments to the Smurfs movie. I forget where I read it, be he said so in an interview.

I'd love Whoopi to do it again, I thought she was really funny. But we know they reached out to Conan earlier this year, so they might be trying to find someone who isn't normally associated with the theatre community to drum up ratings, which I have mixed feelings about.

*cough cough* Kristin *cough* Chenoweth *cough*

kchenofan's computer is broken right now. This is her fridge. Now, you can leave a message, but say it slowly, so I can write it on a post-it note and stick it to myself.

She's doing 8 performances a week in a new revival. She can't prepare for this too.

People multitask. All of the nominees do 8 shows a week on top of press every Tony season.

Doing press is different than MCing the entire thing.

Hugh Jackman and Nathan Lane seemed to be able to handle it.

Speaking of which, can one of them return?

As long as Jackie Hoffman is a presenter or a correspondent for Broadway.Com, I'm happy.

I'd rather have Kristin Chenoweth host next year.

Bill Irwin as Harry MacAfee would be my choice for Tony host.

Rosie is welcomed!

Thinking outside the box:

Joy Behar & Whoopi Goldberg would make an interesting duo.

Seth MacFarlane would be SPECTACULAR.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Seth MacFarlane might get me to not watch the show, especially coupled with this year's nominees. Sorry, I just prefer my awards shows to have some humor and not just fart and vomit "jokes" and random 80s TV references.

Love Betty, but I think she needs a rest, and she's more Hollywood than Broadway anyways.

Maybe Alec Baldwin would do it? Or Tina Fey? Though I suppose NBC personalities need not apply. Who does that leave from CBS? Harry Smith from The Early Show? Katie Couric?

I think funny people that will draw viewers in because of their fame and hilarity
Alec Baldwin
Betty White
Chelsea Handler
Dustin Hoffman
Someone to keep people entertained and give ratings....unfortunately it won't be a broadway legend like bernadette peters or something

Um. Bernadette Peters is also a very known Hollywood actress. TONS of TV/FILM. She was married to Steve Martin. She did movies with Steve Martin. While not as much of a household name as Alec Baldwin, she IS a name that would draw viewers.

But I don't want to see Bernie host. ESPECIALLY not this year.

It would seem this year that it would be more appropriate for Carson Daly to host.

...or...Justin Timberlake.

Alec Baldwin can't do it. He'll be doing EQUUS at the John Drew Theatre in East Hampton, Long Island.

I don't think they were married.

Oh you know what, that's right? Weren't they engaged when they entered splitsville?
