I posted this a few days ago, but I'm updating it with the news that in honor os our 10th Anniversary, Brooklyn Brewery is donating beer--and we are giving to away with at $15 ticket. There is a $5 student rush, so you do the math,

(We'll be carding, of course).

The next edition of The (one-and-only) 24 Hour Plays is coming fast on the heels of our most successful Broadway benefit yet, and just in time to jump-start, short-circuit, or replace your holiday shopping season.

So fast, in fact, that the show (the first mainstage offering of our TENTH ANNIVERSARY SEASON) is NEXT WEEK, Monday, December 5th. Q: What the hell is "The 24 Hour Plays", anyway?

A: The long-running (10 years!) downtown theatrical high wire act, produced by The 24 Hour Company. 36 or so brave and talented theater artists will write, direct, and perform six ten-minute plays in a single day. The two-hour show, starting at 8pm, features fully-staged plays that were written the night before and rehearsed and staged that very day. Visit http://www.24hourplays.com.

For this, our first of three anniversary shows, we've assembled an exciting mix of 24 vets and first-timers from the NYC theater community, as well as some of the fantastic participants from last season's first-ever Cold Reading Series

Featuring, as far as we know: the writing stylings of and Mike Doughty (recent solo album HAUGHTY MELODIC, former Soul Coughing frontman), Michael John Garces (FRAG), Elizabeth Meriweather (NICKY GOES GOTH), muMs, aka Craig Grant, (OZ, MORNING BREATH), Mac Rogers (FLEET WEEK: The Musical) and Elizabeth Sorrell (VOICE), the directorial visions of Mark Armstrong, Eli Gonda, Andrew McCarthy, Brian Mertes, and Stephen Willeford, and the acting talents of Gbenga Akinnagbe, Nicolle Bradford, Micah Bucey, Joachin Perez-Campbell, Brent Cox, Michael Esper, Alexie Gilmore, Patrick Heusinger, Kara Mosley, Kelley O'Donnell, Lucas Papaelias, Matt Stadelmann, Allison Twardziak, Lawrence Winslow and Nancy Wu. Our participant list is, as always, subject to change in all ways except levels of bravery, panache, aplomb and rockitude.
