The Awesome 80s Prom is an interactive experience that promotes significant audience participation in the style of Tony n’ Tina's Wedding, set at Wanaget High's Senior Prom... in 1989! All your favorite characters from your much loved '80s movies are at the Prom, from the Captain of the Football Team to the Asian Exchange Student, from the Geek to the hottie Head Cheerleader, and they’re all competing for Prom King and Queen. And just like on "American Idol," the audience decides who wins, all while moonwalking to great retro hits like “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “Wake Me Up, Before You Go Go!” Come "Back in Time” and join the break-dance circle or just sit back and watch the '80s drama unfold. Come on, you know you have a Members Only jacket somewhere... and if you're lucky, you'll even get to dance with the Captain of the Football Team.
BORING!!! Stay home with a 6 pack and watch a Molly Ringwald movie instead. It's much cheaper and you'll have a better time. One or two actors may speak to you or insult you in character as you stand around and take in the 80's which I already enjoyed the first time around. Luckily I had bought a ticket that came with 2 drinks.
DO NOT GO TO THIS! I am just warning you, that club is a dump and it was a terrible experience. I got comp tickets, and really should have burned them. What a waste of time.

Just to make full disclosure, I'm in the show... the majority of the feedback is extremely positive. It might not be for everyone, but if you are interested in reliving the 80s for a couple of hours and can appreciate this type of show, it is fun.
It was funny when the bully grabbed my friend's beer cup and drank from it but my friend didn't want to drink from the cup after that!
haha, well I'm 16 and I'm homeschooled, so I don't get to go to school dances or any type of prom I don't even get to have a graduation ceremony so I just want to go to something that's like a prom so I thought this would be interesting, when my friend told me about it.
I went to the Chicago production with three friends and had a BLAST! But then, we all graduated high school in the 80s. If you are not fond of retro 80s music, memorabilia, films, etc., then of course you will hate it and probably be bored. My friends and I laughed and danced and had a marvelous time and will probably go again simply because it beats any dance club in the city of Chicago. Better music and more entertaining.
I, too, worked at the Prom for a while. Be warned that it's not actually a show that you sit down and watch; it's an interactive experience, and you dance for a lot of the time to classic 80's. It's fun, and the characters are hysterical, but the drunken bachelorettes can kill the experience.
