Alright folks, this thread (thanks Jrb) and my mother in law (who has lost 50 pounds) has inspired me to join Weight Watchers. Today is my first meeting at 6pm and I am going to do this. No more excuses. For physical and health reasons, I need to lose this weight. I am getting tired of how I look and feel. And reading this thread with people saying how their clothes are falling of them (in the non-dirty way
) and them feeling better than they have since High School and before . . . it is really motivating. Thanks everyone. I will report back tonight how the meeting went and what my first reaction is to this.
Double the post . . . double the weight loss.
I go in for my first weigh in since I stared Weight Watchers, so I hope I lost some (I better since I have followed the rule back so closely). I will post back afterwards to let you know how it went.
Well, I went yesterday and I almost passed out when I found out that I lost:
5.6 pounds in one week.
SWEET!!
Just wanted to say Patronus your 2 pt sandwich is amazing! I had one at 12ish and I'm still not hungry. And, in the process of telling you that, this thread has been bumped, so we can discuss dinner and help eachother through the nighttime munchies.
The lost was around the waist area.(For now that's the only part I measure.) I was told by my doctor to lay off the diet and cut down on the exercise until I visit a nutritionist, he thinks I've been losing too much muscle mass.
I just had a REALLY long phone covo with my nurtritionist guy. It turns out I was losing a weird amount of muscle mass, was that I wasn't getting enough vitamins/protien. He suggested that I start back eating more meats and white cheeses and stay away from canned veggies.
. I can start dieting again, yay!

Guess who's officially at her goal weight!!!????
I put on several pounds when I lived in NY, due to working midtown and all the kosher restaurants available there. I didn't quite realize HOW MUCH weight I'd gained until I got married and got a scale as a wedding gift.
In the past year and a half I slowly learned how to eat healthy and joined a gym. In the last 3 months I starting eat low fat meals due to high cholesterol, and did more research on what I should be eating. To make a long story short, I finally learned what's good for me to eat and lost 15 pounds in the last 4 months, bringing my total weight loss to 23 pounds!
I love the food I eat and I'm never hungry (except when I'm supposed to be)!
How's everyone doing?
I can now say that I'm a full 100 lbs. lighter than I was at my heaviest weight, which feels beyond great. Just a bit more to go, and then the battle is maintaining. Just goes to show you -- no one's a hopeless case. Hopefully you're all having continued success.
