In honor of Ethel Merman's 99th birthday on January 16th, the Off-Broadway hit musical The Big Voice: God or Merman? will make the evening special by celebrating the legendary Broadway belter.

"Audience members are invited to dress up like Ethel Merman for free admission to the show that evening at 8pm. After the performance, there will be a 'Merman-off' costume parade hosted and judged by the legendary Marge Champion and Donald Saddler. Marge directed Ethel as Dolly when she went into the show and Donald Saddler directed Ethel many times including her famous show with Mary Martin. The costume parade will conclude with a cake and ice cream celebration at the theater," press notes state.

How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

NLS, thanks so much for being such a great fan and vocal proponent of The Big Voice. I know that moving back to the South is going to be difficult for you. I enjoyed meeting you when you came to see the show. Please stay in touch with us here and let us know how you're doing.

Right now, our tickets are on sale through Feb. 4th, but I think the producers are going to extend the run through June. Will let you know as soon as we know.

It does sound like fun I wish I could be tgere!

I am having a bit of a celebration myself. Sunday night on my radio program FRONT ROW CENTRE I will feature selections from CALL ME MADAM (stage and screen versions) and play excerpts from an interview we did with Miss Merman in 1979.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
