Is The Phantom of Manhattan a good book? I heard that it's a continue of Phantom on Broadway, is that true?

It is the literary equivalent (and I use the term literary VERY loosely) of SHOWGIRLS- delicously bad and fun in an unintentional way. Sort of like SUBBING...
It wasn't even bad enought to be fun for me. I can see why ALW dropped plans for a sequal to Phantom of the Opera based on the book. I don't know how many copies of Phantom of Manhatten sold, but I believe it rather quickly went to the remainder table, where it was right at home.
Hate me but....I LOVED THIS BOOK. I thought it was stunningly fantastic. I loved the ending! It was soo good. Yes I'm the ONLY one but it was definately a good read.

I received this book as a gift and read it because it was such. I don't think I will ever be able to bring myself to read it again. I didn't hate it but it's not the best in world either. If you don't have anything better to read, give it a try.
If you really want to read a good book, try "Phantom" by Susan Kay. (I think that's how she spelled her last name) Anyway, no matter how many times I read it (and it seems I go back to it time and again), I've found it to be the best "Phantom" story I have ever read. I still cry every time I read certain parts.
I don't think the book is available anymore--you may have to try E-bay or Half.com to find it but it is VERY worth it.

I'm weird...I HATED Susan Kay's Phantom....
aww I have "Phantom" by Susan Kay! Thats a good book!! Phantess- "Phantom of Manhattan" is really that good? Well I bought it anyway so I'm gonna read it!!
Most people hate POM...i'm not most people. But Andrea, definately read it. Read it so you can hate it at the least.
AOM! Ok I will!! =-)
I've read both books. I liked Phantom Of Manhattan, but hated the ending. I loved Phantom, and I think that it's the second best Phantom book, after Gaston's original story.
