Your school is doing it? Did no one else check what was available?
Saw it..bored by it..truly a lacking theatrical experience with tepid music.
Sure it's not to late to do "Hair"?
the musical has some beautiful music...the only thing i don't really care for is it has no plot what so ever...just a bunch of musical numbers..but still has great music :)
Great score & great show.
well two years ago they did Hair, so i dont think that they would be doing it so soon.
The Civil War is not a musical. It doesn't really work as a musical and it failed because that;s what people thought it was trying to be. Frank Wildhorn specifically said it was a "concept concert for the theatre" without a book. It's just a lot of little scenes with great pop music based on various passions, documents, and events of that time. Only a crazy person would try to tell the story of The Civil War in a musical. The idea with this show is to let people visualize their own images of this time with country music as a background. Is this a high school? You really need to have outstanding singers to make this show work because making the music sound good and sung with passion is the strongest point of this show. I have never come across anyone below the age of 20 that could actually sing these high notes well. Updated On: 10/9/04 at 10:10 PM

I think its a great show. Its mostly tenors and baritones but there are a few basses thrown in there too. Break a leg!
