We all know how much Oprah is kicking herself for not having produced DREAMGIRLS. Her adoration of the cast and film on her show was over the top (although I found it odd that Danny Glover, her two time co-star, was not on that episode.)
Anyway, anyone else thinking Oprah might just want to try producing the COLOR PURPLE:THE MUSICAL film after what appears to be the huge success of DREAMGIRLS?

Oprah has an unfortunate tendency to get rather hyperbolic when she has the cast of movies on for an entire episode.
I shall never forget when she told Ron Howard and cast that "Backdraft is the best movies I've seen in my life!" She enjoyed the fire sequences, it seems.

Kind of like Rosie O and Liz Smith's seemingly endless array of "best musical ever!" quotes.
But I'll bet she's considering it.
