LOL! She has missed a lot of work days in the amount of time she has been in the show so she must not be able to walk and talk an awfully lot. She signed a contract for 8 shows a week and she should be working 8 shows a week! If she can't handle it, then she should go on a restricted schedule and allow her fans to be able to count on seeing her when they get to the theatre.
To set the record straight:
Ethel Merman never missed a performance of Call Me Madam. She rarely missed a performance of Annie Get Your Gun and Gypsy which each had long runs on Broadway. She was an agent, producer, artistic director, actor, singer, casting director, and musician of the first degree. Merman was the greatest exponent of that which made Broadway tick: onstage and off stage, Ethel Merman shot directly from the hip.

Heres a link of Fantasia on her first show back from being sick.

Like I said before - its clearly obvious how much she loves doing this. And take a look at the interaction between her and Mister.
And lets just wait and see how the next month goes before we start reducing her schedule. From what I understand a lot of the other cast members have missed quite a few shows too - but they dont have the police watching their every move like Fantasia.

Nor are they featured in the ads so I doubt there are a lot of people making the journey to NY just to see them. They are going to see Fantasia and she should be showing up!

Oh no, Jimmy doesn't give it up. He's been on her case since June when she missed a performance for the Tony awards. Just ignore him, I actually find his postings and obsession with her being out kind of funny now. Especially since he's now complaining in a thread of a RAVE review of a person who's seen her and said "I can see why she's out so much because she works so hard in the role", something like that. You really can't take people seriously who do nothing but complain about a person who've they have never seen. Perhaps if he went to see her, he'd actually grow to respect the work that she is doing. But of course, that'd make too much sense and Jimmy won't ever do that.

Well maybe I tried to see her and she was OUT! Anyway, this is pretty rich coming from you! You have NOT SEEN THE SHOW. You only read the reviews. LOL!!!!!!!!!

What does this mean? Im not defending her every move. I just know that she is a professional - knowing her schedule and track record prior to Broadway- its FACT not my opinion that she missed maybe 1 or the most 2 performances in 3 years of working.
Now tell me how many performances La Chanze missed, Elizabeth missed and some other performers in TCP? Because I hear alot of the cast members were sick recently.
Get back to me on that one. Then we can talk.
Also get back to me on the number of performances Fantasia has missed since April 11 other than the excused one for the Tony awards. Thanks. Put down the number of performances, the number Fantasia appeared in and the number she missed due to illness.

LOL! It's been documented by others. Just search the threads and you can find out but she has missed many. ETHEL MERMAN she ain't!

What about LaChanze and Elizabeth.

Ok Jim - I did some homework. I think Fantasia has missed 14 performances out of 160. So she has about a 92% attendance rating.
Do you have the figures for LaChanze during her time ?
Note that out of the 14 missed performances- 8 out them were announced when she was out for the whole week. So there are 160 performances and she upset people for 6 of them. Now we are getting to a 96.25% rating.
Pretty good for a very tough role that requires the actor to be on stage for the full 2 1/4 hours.
Edited because I originally had 100 shows when in fact its been 160.

Umm, with your big mouth had you actually tried to see the show and she was absent you would have raised hell right here on this board. Your only proof that she's been out is these little one liner postings that you run to other boards and fine and post it here as gospel. You raise hell when you haven't even tried to see her so I can only imagine how you'd feel if you went and she wasn't there.
Thanks for admitting that I at least read reviews. I wish I could give you credit for READing, anything. Then you wouldn't look and sound so ignorant. You definitely are NOT a reader.

Oh Poor Virgo, you are the ignorant one. Give it a rest, sweetie. You don't always have to have the last word, especially when you have nothing real to say. Please go back to the Idol boards and post your adoration over there.
She reads book reviews like they was books.

Oh jimmy dear sweet one, I have NEVER seen ANYONE get the last word with you on this issue and believe me, I'm not trying to get any last word. I know your habit, that'd be impossible to do. I just wanted to respond to your lie that you tried to see fantasia in TCP and she was out. You never tried to see her. At least I don't lie about trying to see things, I'm upfront. You should try it some time, not only are you annoying, but you are also a habitual liar. Now, you run back to the idol boards and see what other info you can dig up on Fantasia and report back now. Did mmeego say she was out too? Well then it must be true. LMAO!!!!
I'm done fella have fun, I don't want you to think I'm actually interested in what you're saying.

Fare the well Miss Virgo! Have a nice life. And please learn how to read. I did not say that I tried to see your idol, I said MAYBE I tried to see her.....
No need to respond. It must be past your bedtime anyway.

Exacty, I don't take you seriously at all. You are way to emotionally invested in TCP for me to take anything you say seriously. Plus, why would I take your review seriously when I have 100's of others that say the opposite? Don't hate because you are in the minority I mean you are in the extreme minority. Must be lonely down there trying to get people to believe your reviews. Every time you say something negative, someone else comes along and says the opposite. LMAO!!!! Perhaps you can find an ignorant person like Jimmy who doesn't read real reviews or see the actual shows to believe what you say. hehehe. You guys are a match made in heaven. Funny how you are both posting here in a RAVE review. Figures.
Edit To Say this:
For the record, I didn't see Fantasia's Lifetime movie either. However, judging by the reviews both critics and just people who tuned in, neither she nor the movie were all that good. Out of all the critic reviews, I only saw about 3 or 4 that were pretty good and I don't know anyone on this board who liked it. I saw a few good viewer reviews but the negative far outweighed the positive in viewer reviewers. From the clips that I've seen of Fantasia's movie, the movie as a whole wasn't very good, it looked like a rush job. So, the reviews go right along with what I did see. Same with TCP, the clips that I've seen as well as all the reviews 100% RAVE critic reviews (and about 99% rave fan reviews, minus foster LOL), go hand and hand plus the fact that she has actually won awards in this role is enough to tell me that she is pretty outstanding in TCP and not so good in the movie. I don't blame her for the movie, it was a rush job and just thrown together for ratings for lifetime, they didn't care, they just wanted ratings and it was a ratings success. I'd like to see her do film where she isn't rushed, she likely would knock it out.
Now I gotta go.

Naughty, naughty Virgo! I thought you were going away. You just can't resist, can you? Please go and see a show before you read the reviews and form an opinion based on what you actually see. Then you can get back to us.
Girlfriend has officially lost it. Virgo, what in heck are you talking about? I have seen the show, doll. You have not.
Every time you say something negative, someone else comes along and says the opposite.
Please, copy and paste the four posts maximum in which I have ever made a negative comment about Fantasia on this board (let alone even one that displays that I am in any way emotionally invested.)
If anyone is overly emotionally invested, it is you, dear. You write BOOKS in these "Fantasia in THE COLOR PURPLE" threads, for some bizarre reason, when you haven't even seen it! Talk about "way too emotionally invested."
I only post in threads about shows I have seen. If I haven't seen it, I don't comment, because I really am in no place to do so. Your posts in these threads do nothing but take up space from those who actually have a first-hand opinion on the performance.
The topic is "The Color Purple Starring Fantasia." Have you seen The Color Purple Starring Fantasia? No? Then what are you doing? Go microwave some popcorn and watch more TV, or how about posting in a thread about a show you've actually seen? Interesting concept, I know.
"I believe Fantasia performed Sunday - as scheduled."
Fantasia missed Sunday's matinee and was back for the evening performance.
"Ok Jim - I did some homework. I think Fantasia has missed 14 performances out of 160. So she has about a 92% attendance rating... Note that out of the 14 missed performances- 8 out them were announced when she was out for the whole week."
Fantasia has missed 24.5 performances- one week, or 8 performances, of which were due to her scheduled vacation. This gives her an 84.7% attendance rate, 89.1% if her vacation isn't counted. However, 20 of these performances, including her vactaion were over the past 6 weeks. For this period of time her attendance has been only 58.3%, or 70% if her vacation isn't counted. Do with this information what you will.

"Fantasia has not missed 24.5 performances. She never took her scheduled vacation. She was out the week before due to illness and worked her scheduled vacation. "
It's true that Fantasia didn't take her scheduled vacation, which had been planned for August 8-12. She did however still take one week of "vacation", whether she spent the week sick or not, July 25-29. She has missed 24.5 performances.

She has missed a few perfomances here and there - but whatever illness she had took a big chunk of the missed performances.
Lets just see what happens now that she appears healthy.
