re: The Cruel_Sandwich Thread

Excellent idea, Kringas. I think think of a couple of people who would benefit from their own threads that I could just avoid at all costs. re: The Cruel_Sandwich Thread

re: The Cruel_Sandwich Thread

I have to say, I would have never advocated the ignore user option for the longest time.
I finally succumbed, though, and it's the happiest you can possibly be on this board. Gone are all the little pet peeve posters.

re: The Cruel_Sandwich Thread

I'm still not sure how to use it. God knows I can think of a few people I'd block.

I think he's on my ignore list, too.

Kits, just go to "Your Settings."
Somewhere in the 2nd block of information, you'll see a link that says "ignore board users."
Click it, type int he name of any user you wish to ignore and voila! You'll see a list of your ignored users. I believe (but I am not sure) that it blocks posts AND PMs.
a warning: when you hit reply to a thread, if you scroll back down, you can see previously-blocked posts.

re: The Cruel_Sandwich Thread

Someone should sign him up for a blog for Christmas.

Bway, the "ignore user" function only blocks posts (and doesn't work consistently), not PM's. To block a user from PMing you, you have to open a message from whoever you want to block and click "block user."

re: The Cruel_Sandwich Thread

Thanks for the info, Luv. re: The Cruel_Sandwich Thread I don' thave much experience with it since I generally find I can ignore someone I don't want to deal with even when I can see their posts.
but it really does create peace of mind. You can't even see threads blocked people start (I guess when it works!)!. Can't beat that.

re: The Cruel_Sandwich Thread

Kitz, you'll also need to sign out and back in once you block someone. Although, I suspect you haven't seen this message since I'm likely on your short list. re: The Cruel_Sandwich Thread

Think of it as your very own love thread where you can say whatever you want without judgment. Well, to an extent :)

I'll still reply to you, Robb. I haven't blocked anyone. Just spreadin' the lurve!
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

re: The Cruel_Sandwich Thread

Honestly, with so many threads around here turning into the same banal "chat room," time after time, I'm often GLAD that Cruel posts even a little food for thought. And I'm more than happy to entertain his musings, some fascinating, and some not so. But that's better than most around here.

Some of you should take stock in your own posts and threads before passing judgment on his.
