The Devil's Carnival is a movie-musical premiering at Times Scare tonight. Actors Briana Evigan (Step Up 2), Terrance Zdunich (Repo! The Genetic Opera) and director Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW) will all be there. I'm going.
Call me a shill, for this, I am. =)

Wrong board, shill.
Did anyone see this? I've heard almost nothing about it.
Watching the trailer that was included in the BWW article in the link above left me dumbfounded. I couldn't really get a sense of what this was supposed to be.
I had two impressions really. One made me think that this was one of those niche shows at an arts festival that was perhaps highly theatrical and emotive enough to become the darling of the audiences there, but which loses much of its appeal when it
gets picked apart or moves from one medium to another.
The second was of those super-sincere and well-intentioned movies that rear their heads in the annual LGBT film festival I always attend. You know, the kind that tries really hard and has some moments that work, but in which the actng tends to be sub-par and the whole thing is more about the process of saying what you're saying and what you're saying rather than how it's been said. This feels like the movie musical equivalent of that.
Did anyone see it? I'd been keen to hear your thoughts.
