Saw Dr Sex today & it was very entertaining
The cast is superb up & down the line but 2 must be singled out for special attention. Jennifer Simard as Mrs Kinsey & Brian Noonan as the Dr
It is a comedic take on the Kinsey story. Some standout numbers are "1,2,3,4,5,6" which shows how Kinsey started to separate certain groups of people. "The Call of The Wild" where Kinsey & a few other males go out into the woods & sing about the glories of being in the buff. The title song is catchy & the 1 st act closer, taking place in a gay nightclub, call "Pharaoh's Tomb" is a hoot.
In the 2 nd act, you have "They will tell you everything" about how Kinsey got people to share their secrets. Simard than sings the living hell out of " The Doctor's Wife" & it stops the show cold. The finale - 2 songs "That Dirty Book/Kinsey" in the 11 th Hour end s it with a bang
Met the cast afterward & all were very nice Simard is a doll & Noonan is really a nice guy. There is talk they are trying to find an off Broadway venue.
It is well worth your time. I hope it has a longer life after this engagement & look forward to a cast album
