Yes!!!
Great news, indeed!
One credit that Playbill.com left out for director/choreographer Casey Nicholaw was origional cast of TMM (he was one of the speedtapists, as well as a few other noticeable bit roles).
This show sounds good, and I wish them all the success in the world.

Posted: 6/27/05 at 6:48pmI think it sounds like a fab show, but I'm afraid of what kind of future casting Sutton may be offered if she continues with these time pieces...

This show was a delight when it played Toronto a few summers ago.
For regional theatres or limited runs it's fine but I don't see it playing a long run on Broadway. Anyone who doesn't know the fun but silly musical comedies of the 1920s won't get all of the jokes and non-castabum-collectors might be baffled by the ever pedantic man-in-the-chair. I can't see the typical NYC tourists getting this show and I doubt the WICKED airheads will flock to see it. It's a charming little show that would be more at home in a smaller off-Broadway theatre, along the lines of the old Orpheum where LITTLE MARY SUNSHINE played.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

frontrowcenter2, and anyone else who has seen this Toronto production: I'd like to know more. Were the songs good? Was it funny? Does it need work? Why do you think typical NYC tourists won't get it?

If DROWSY goes to Broadway it would play best in smaller theatre (Booth, Music Box.) IN Toronto it played at the 1,000 seat Winter Garden which seemed perfect.
Yes, it is very funny but has many inside jokes and sly references to older musicals of the 1920s and 30s. I just feel this will baffle those who are not up on shows like NO NO NANETTE, LADY BE GOOD and GOOD NEWS.
In other words it is a fun "little" show and not a big empty specatcle like ... well so many of the current offerings.
