Flu Strkes Cagney      Gosh, what a trouper!  Robert Creighton danced the role, even though he had laryngitis.  His understudy had the flu.  I'm glad I had a chance to see that show.  (from Page Six.com)

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

This put the biggest smile on my face...not that Robert and his understudy were sick, of course, but how they made it work! So proud to have been a little part of this awesome production.

Bravo!

I'm always tempted to repeat stories like this one, or what happened at Falsettos earlier this year whenever people complain about an understudy. 1) It shows just how damn hard everyone involved in a production works 2) It's pretty awesome that you never know what live theater will throw your way.
