Can anyone tell me if The Frogs is suitable for children?

It would be entertaining to adults (I loved the show), but children would be bored and would not understand the story line. The title suggests an animal, but this is not The Lion King. When I've attended the show, I've not seen any children.

There is some PG-13 humor in the show, but I think it is very appropriate for older children. When I attended last time, there was a boy of about 10 sitting near me, and he loved it; understood it.

I'd say a child would have to be around 13 or older to enjoy the humor and get some of what is being done. Otherwise, they would just be tapping their feet to 'I Love to Travel' and not getting much of the rest.

The debate would be boring to most kids...but I have seen a lot of teenagers in the crowd and actually DID see some younger kids (but then I saw REALLY YOUNG kids at the Producers too and THAT was just weird -- 'Hey Mommy, Timon said f**k')

SamIAm, LOL about Timon saying "f*&k!" I had to laugh during the run of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" when Nathan and Ernie Sabella came out to sign autographs one evening. One VERY little boy in the crowd turned to his mother and said, "They look just like they do in 'The Lion King'!"

Ernie laughed hysterically, and Nathan's mock "I-ought-to-slap-you" expression was priceless!

The Frogs is fine for children. I just saw it, and I loved it. I'm fourteen, by the way. Depending on the age of the kid, they might not get some of the jokes (especially the political ones and the risque ones...uh, never mind) and the debate may seem boring.

*bites fingernails* I need to see The Frogs again.

*** (tipping my hat to a 14-year old with superb taste) ***

I know what you mean about feeling the FROGS urge... The more I see THE FROGS the more I like it. Thank god for TDF and friends who have taken me for repeats. I'm seeing it again at its final performance on October 10.

Am going again on 10/8 and I have to say that this is what I hate about limited runs -- just when the show gets tight and you want to go back and see it again...it's OVER

WAAHHHH!

Love the story about 'Forum' and the kids at the stage door...so typical. Sabella and Lane are so wonderful together. I had wished that Ernie were available to do Xanthius in Frogs...though Bart is SO good.

Can't wait for the OCR on this. And, I do agree that kids over 13 or so should be OK with this show. Other than that I think they would be bored or clueless but I did see younger kids in the audience when I was there.
