I found most of it quite enjoyable but I'm a Sondheim nut.
I do think that Susan Stroman was at a loss for much of it and it might have been much better with someone else directing and choreographing. Several sections were really misdirected and fell totally flat as a result. Some of it was deadly, but I don't think it's the fault of the text. I do think the text changes made to the debate sequence were a mistake, but it was so poorly staged that I suppose anything to shorten it was good.
John Byner was especailly wonderful in his small roles.

Bwaydreams - I never saw a production of the show, but I believe that it's very movement-heavy, especially if you're in the chorus. The frogs themselves would, of course, be jumping and dancing all over the place. The original play (by Aristophanes) has a lot of physical comedy, and I'm guessing that the musical would as well.
Break a leg at the callback, and have fun! One of my theatre classes recently read Aristophanes' play, and I thought it was hilarious - once you get past the fart jokes, there's a lot of sharp political satire.
I've enjoyed what I've heard of the cast recordings; I think the chorus parts are beautiful. Then again, as with many posters on this board, I have yet to hear a Sondheim score that I dislike! That includes Bounce, and even Anyone Can Whistle.
