I heard a rumor that the current tour of "The Full Monty" has just changed to Non-Equity. This is the same tour that will be playing at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in a few weeks.

Can anyone confirm?

Yup, that is correct. It's now a non-equity/non-union tour. The union actors/musicians, etc., got very little notice that they'd soon be unemployed. S-U-C-K-S

Sounds like you were part of The Full Monty union actors/musicians, etc.

No, I wasn't but I would've been proud to be part of that team. What's your affiliation?

Think how they must feel knowing they're coming to Akron.

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

We will be seeing it in Indianpolis this coming Saturday. re: The Full Monty - On Tour We loved it on Broadway. I hope it's worth our time and money now.

It may not be an equity production nor equity actors but they are still members of the theatrical community so let's give them the chance and respect that they deserve. My heart goes out to the Equity tour that was closed and I wish the actors and families the best of luck.

Actually one of the new cast members is from Canton so at least he's looking forward to coming to Akron.

As for the equity tour closing, welcome to show biz kids, wear a helmet.

As for the cast 'not knowing,' well my friend got cast in September so HE knew and, thus, I knew, so it's not like this information was just released last Wednesday. Updated On: 1/5/04 at 08:25 AM

I agree with you Sumofallthings. I am sure all of the performers will someday be in the union. And John, that is very exciting.

JohnPopa, your "Wednesday" comment? Your "September" friend? Nobody said it JUST HAPPENED. Because of your selfless, inside track guidance, I'm running out and getting helmuts for all my unsuspecting colleagues who've worked their asses off and paid dues to a union that you mock. That's show business? You're just a smart ass.

For the record, no one "knocked" the non-union tour or it's members. Anyone who's really worked in "show business" knows what it's like to be a non-union performer while striving to get THEIR union card. THAT'S SHOW BUSINESS Popa.
