The Glamourous Life Question

I just came back from the Sondheim Birthday concert here in chicago and Audra sang a version of The Glamourous Life that Fredrika would have sang and it was beautiful and i really liked it and wonder if anyone knows where i can find or has a link to this song.

The Glamourous Life Question

I'm guessing it's the version that was composed for the film.

You can find it on a bonus track of the current release of the OBC. On the 96 Judi Dench/National theatre cast recording (long out of print), there is also a version of it combined with the original version.
Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

The Glamourous Life Question

Yes, if I remember correctly. (I haven't seen the movie in ages though, not since I saw the show itself. I don't want to change my good memories :P).

The Glamourous Life Question

It was the movie version. It did replace the version in the show because it was deemed too theatrical (although the movie is the opposite of cinematic). The entire movie can be seen on "that site".

The Glamourous Life Question

The film version of "The Glamorous Life" is my 2nd favorite Sondheim song of all time (the first being The Miller's Son)...and Audra's version is one of my most-watched YouTube videos.

The Glamourous Life Question

Yes, in the film it does replace the stage version of the song.

It's been recorded several times but the one that's easiest to find is the one on the current issue of original cast recording, as quolbinau suggests.

It's been published in Stephen Sondheim: Film and Television Songs.
