Hey everyone,
Introducing The Hamilcast on iTunes and Podomatic! We've had some coverage on BroadwayWorld, but wanted to post here and tell the BWW community all about it.
In this American podcast about an American musical about a bastard orphan, we (your hosts Gillian Pensavalle and Bianca Soto) talk all things Hamilton including how it brings people together, how we find Ham references in everyday life, and the general brilliance of the show. Full disclosure: Bianca has seen the show (Twice! Once at the Public and once on Broadway thanks to the lottery) and Gillian has not seen it yet but has tickets for September. We bring different perspectives but have the same opinion: we effing love it. Starting in our third episode, we will be discussing Ron Chernow's book that inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda to write this amazing show. If you're interested, please feel free to read along with us; we'll be going chapter-by-chapter. But there's no pressure! There's plenty to talk about and we're not treating this like a super serious history class. We're just here to have fun with people who also love Hamilton.
In our second episode, we spoke to Ashley Graffeo, a history teacher from NYC's Harvey Milk High School, about how she uses the musical to help get her students excited about American History. Spoiler: it totally worked and now they are challenging her to rap battles. True story.
Our third episode (premiering on Monday, February 15th), features the hilarious Kathleen Cameron who did 46 Ham-inspired Dubsmashes - one for each track on the cast recording. Lin-Manuel Miranda and Sutton Foster both tweeted about her so you KNOW she's legit.
