Posted: 8/29/05 at 8:05amMichael John LaChiusa is writing it. It'll debut at Lincoln Center in January.

Posted: 8/29/05 at 10:53amThat's unfair. Are you familiar with his work? LaChiusa is a brilliant composer who is very sensitive to his source material. If anyone other than LaChiusa were doing it I would be concerned.

Posted: 8/29/05 at 12:03pmIt is going to be amazing! I've heard who is in the workshop cast and hopefully make the trasfer to Broadway - or the Mitzi actually. It is going to be great!

As a fan of LaChiusa and HUGE fan of Lorca, this looks intriguing...but will it be a case of "this-should-have-been-an-opera-not-a-musical"?
