The Language of Wicked....

On the Wicked CD, track #16, Elphaba starts singing in some language that's not English. Does anyone know what language she's speaking in? Is it an actual spell that she is saying, or are they just words that the writer came up with? Anyone know where I might find the answer to my question?

Thanks so much! The Language of Wicked....

Thanks a lot. I've not finished the book, nor have I seen the show yet.

Go ahead and finish the book. It is only a spoiler for the musical.
BSoBW2: I punched Sondheim in the face after I saw Wicked and said, "Why couldn't you write like that!?"

That specific chanting is not in the book.

re: The Language of Wicked....

Fyero doesn't turn into the Scarecrown in the book and Boq doesn't become the Tin Man....I love the book but it is soooooo different from the musical....much darker....I do think the story is the musical is a lot better though (more thought through)
